Top Three Picks of June 28, 2009

My top three picks today are perfect for any summer playlist! They are: Billie Jean by Michael Jackson (may he r.i.p.), Hotel Yorba by The White Stripes (a bit of a throwback, I know), and last but not least In Transit by Albert Hammond Jr.
First off: Billie Jean is still relevant today. That song will never get old and that beginning riff is something that will always get me dancing. That album is the top selling album of all time and its no wonder why. With infectious beats and relatable lyrics, anyone can see why songs like Billie Jean are still playing on people's iPods. It really is perfect for summertime tunage and its a PERFECT car song. When your driving with your friends, this is the kinda song you want playing in the background. I mean EVERYONE knows this song.
Next we have Hotel Yorba by The White Stripes. I went through a huge White Stripes phase a few years ago and this was my favorite song by the dark-haired-duo. It's upbeat and acoustic which is a great formula for a "chilling on the beach" song. I'm also obsessed with the music video. It's a great addition to anyone's latest playlist.
Last we have In Transit. I have been playing this song basically non-stop since last summer. Albert Hammond Jr. is one of those bands that you just CAN'T hate. They just know how to add those addicting riffs and easy-to-learn lyrics that are perfect to listen to as you walk around the city or bike by the beach. This band also has the blessing of sounding amazing both live and in-studio, which isn't really easy to come by. This song is a MUST-have.

The Top Three Picks For June 26, 2009

Hi Everyone! So last post I didn't really explain why I picked the three songs that I picked, so today I'll give you a little more info about each song I pick! Today's three songs are Boys with Girlfriends by Meiko, Publish My Love by Rogue Wave, and Daylight by Matt and Kim. I'll put the youtube videos below so you can check 'em out without having to leave this lovely blog!
Ok, so first thing's first. Boys with Girlfriends is a very clever, catchy song by Meiko (who is GREAT, her voice is so unique I love it) that describes something almost every girl/chick/betty/woman goes through. (PLUS the music video is very quirky, which adds brownie points for me!)
Next we have Publish My Love by Rogue Wave. This song is actually two years old and is Rogue Wave at it's best. It's perfect for almost every mood and playlist. Trust me, it's a great addition to your iTunes library. Also, like the song before, this has a quirky video as well, something I love.
Last for today we have Daylight by Matt and Kim! I am OBSESSED with this song, the singer's voice isn't my absolute favorite, but it definitely adds to how awesome this song is. It was also featured in a Bacardi  commercial that I LOVE! So again, this is worth the 99 cents and more! Also great for any summer playlist.
